Amazon has announced something that we thought could be on the horizon: it’s increasing the price of its Prime and Student Prime subscriptions in the US. The company hinted during a recent earnings call that the price could be set to rise – and today we have confirmation. It’s the first price rise in nine years for Amazon Prime – which nets subscribers access to on-demand streaming, free two-day delivery and e-book rentals – and will now cost $99 per year, up from $79. It’s a slightly smaller price increase for students, up to $49 per year from $39 previously....
