iON Cameras and Contour merge to compete with GoPro

iON Cameras and Contour — both specializing in action-based POV and wearable video cameras — have announced that they are merging. The companies have a combined global distribution in over 10,000 stores in 40 countries and will be in a better position to give dominant competitor GoPro a run for its money. The Contour and iON brands will co-exist while offering a full range of connected and wearable cameras. Contour will continue to focus on products for the higher end of the camera market.
