European VC company Frontline Ventures has announced a €40 million ($50 million USD) fund, which will be run by partners Shay Garvey, Will Prendergast and William McQuillan from Dublin and London. Frontline Ventures focuses on early-stage software-based startups and typically invests invests between €250,000 and €2 million per deal. It has made eight investments in the past year including Logentries, Boxever, CurrencyFair and Qstream. It’s been a good year for Europe-focused investment funds, with Google Ventures arriving on the scene with $100 million, while Russia’s Runa Capital unveiled a $200 million fund too.
