As promised, Google today added support for addresses that contain accented or non-Latin characters to Google Calendar. This means users can now invite friends or colleagues who such email addresses. Any Google Calendar action that requires an email address should now work regardless of what characters are used. This includes calendar invites as well as sharing calendars. Last month, Google added support for accented and non-Latin characters into Gmail. The company also said Google Calendar would get the functionality “shortly” and after six weeks, it has delivered.
