You can now pre-order movies from Google Play in the US

Google is introducing the ability to pre-order movies from its Google Play marketplace. The feature is only available in the US, although Google says more countries will be added soon. In short, it means viewers can express their interest in a title and have it ready for streaming or downloading on its release date.
