iWorkforiCloud Apple begins restricting access to iWork for iCloud beta due to demand

Apple has started limiting the number of people that can access the iWork for iCloud beta trial, due to the sheer volume of users trying to test the service out, according to reports.

The service, announced at WWDC 2013, has gradually been rolling out since June, starting first with developers before being widened out to include anyone with an Apple ID just a few days ago. It is expected to formally launch later in the year and will go up against the likes of Google Docs and Evernote.

However, according to 9to5mac, the “overwhelming demand” from users keen to get access to the service has caused problems for Apple. No doubt it’ll be more resilient and ready for the prime-time when it comes out of beta.

We’ve asked Apple for confirmation and will let you know if we hear back.
