GitHub’s hackable text editor, Atom, hits version 1.0

GitHub’s homegrown text editor has hit version 1.0 today, 18 months after the company launched a preview version of the app. Atom, which has been downloaded 1.3 million times, has seen 155 releases since the editor launched and now features a Windows, Linux and Mac installer. The new version also brings significant performance and stability improvements, focusing on scrolling, typing and start times.
