Twitter will start collecting data on the apps you’ve downloaded to serve more targeted ads

Twitter’s going to be getting a little more nosy. According to Recode, the company is looking to collect more information about its users to make ads more effective. With an upcoming update to its mobile apps, Twitter will begin amassing information on what apps its users have downloaded onto their devices. This data can be collected on both Android and iOS devices – it runs a query for the names of the apps you have installed. It doesn’t however, look for data sourced from the apps themselves.
