Fawning over phones: Should we be worried about our addiction to gadgets?

Last week, Ericsson put out a report saying that 90 percent of the world’s population over the age of 6 would have a mobile phone by 2020. That seems like an incredible number – and is perhaps by some people’s estimations, a little on the generous side. Even so, even if you take 10 percent of that figure, that’s a lot of phones. Not all of those are smartphones, of course, but a growing number are.
