Microsoft is investigating a new remote code execution vulnerability in Microsoft Word. The company has issued a security advisory because it has confirmed reports that the flaw is being exploited as part of targeted attacks against Word 2010. The company has found that the flaw affects all supported versions of Microsoft Word. The flaw in question makes remote code execution possible if you open a specially crafted RTF file using an affected version of Word, as well as if you preview or open a specially crafted RTF email message in Outlook while using Word as the email viewer.
